Location of the Famous Church in Jeepers Creepers 1.

You all loved that scene from JP 1 where he dumped the body down the pipe by the church. Well , if you live anywhere near Ocala Florida, than look for that church.

    The old church was burned down several years ago. Nothing there but a vacant lot now. It is on a different road a couple of miles from the one where they filmed the rest of the driving sequences. Edited together, they made it all look like the same endless stretch of road.

    It is actually a little southwest of Ocala near Dunnellon. The road where the driving sequences were shot was the road to Dunnellon High School. It was 180th Ave. Rd., Dunnellon, FL right by Rainbow Springs State Park.

      That's right Dallas. That road runs between SR 40 and CR 484. My kids went to school at Dunnellon Elementary and I officiated many football games for Dunnellon High. During the filming, they shut School Rd down for 3 days; the kids loved it. We lived just off SR 200 out of Ocala, just south of CR 484.

    I grew up just a few miles from the church and went to school at dunnellon i loved the church i have pictures of it before the movie and it was just as creepy

    I salvaged actual bricks feom the steps of the church bedore it was torn down. My wife wont even let me keep them in the house the movie creeper here out so bad.

    What street was the church on? The DVD says it was next to George Steinbrenner's horse farm, but that isn't on highway 40. Someone HAS to know this

    That real, now lost church in Jeepers Creepers was inspired because it didn't look like a Hollywood set, but rather like a Great Depression-era photograph by Walker Evans. It was brutally plain, forlorn. Filming here, together with Central Florida's Spanish-moss festooned horse country, gave the movie a different atmosphere from over-familiar California productions -- pungent and authentic. As much as I like Jeepers Creepers 2, the scenery is generic. Hills and a cornfield roll unremarkably by. In comparison, the scrubby, oppressive subtropical setting of the original was almost a character in the drama, relentless like the creature. It may have made an uncomfortable shoot, but also a hell of a distinctive movie.

    Lol try filming in indiana especially lowell. Got long endless roads with fields on either side. It's the perfect setting. A few never ending lonesome roads are near where I live.. I'd love to have celebrities out here in the middle of nowhere lol. Oh how I miss my hometown in the city. (Chicago)

    3450 SW 110th avenue, Ocala, Florida.

    It's adjacent to kinsman horse farm. Confirmed by director Victor Salva.

    The church is taken down and now a white house is in place of it. You'll know it when you see it

      apparently the house has always been there. it just looks eerily similar to the church location. and yes people live there. i assume they work on the farm or own the farm. the church location is just a vacant space. the coordinates are 29.152093,-82.302803. look it up on google earth and go back in history to 1995 and you'll see there are more trees on the location so i'm assuming they burned down when someone burned down the church in 2002-2003.
